May Board Highlights
 
Julie Turner was sworn in as the new board trustee for Place 6, and Hoyt Harris was sworn in as returning board trustee for Place 7.
 
Daniel Ninth Grade Campus students presented their Hydroponics experiment while Principal Angi Tims gave an overview of the recent highly successrul STEAM carnival.
 
Art students Naila Wilson, Kiersten Hart, Molly Childs, Della Orr-Harter, Mason Summerhill, and Katherine Wood were recognized for their accomplishments in the 2017 State VASE competition and in the 2017 State Youth Art Month competition.
 
The Circuit Breakers robotics team of Ben Oaks, Tate Shelton, Hebah Goderya, Paige Klima, Kevin Robb, and Ethan Witkowski received honors for their participation in the World Championship FIRST Tech Challenge.
 
The State Vet Medical team of Justin Burrow, Payton Byars, Kylie Plevak and Avery Tilley were recognized, along with State Livestock-Judging Team winners Bryan Sadler and Chap Reeves. The winning Horse-Judging Team consisted of Daeliegh Patridge, Simone Keck, Julie Springer and Cassady West. Ryan Zarate and Ryan Walker took third place Area and twentieth place, respectively, for the Tractor Tech Team.
 
State Soccer team recognition went to First Team All-State Keeper Makenzie Covington, First Team All-State Defender Kristen Burns, First Team All-State Midfielder Cameron Huddleston and First Team All-State Forward Peyton Laughley.
 
The Duke University Talent Identification Program honored these individuals from Aledo Middle School: Lily Zschiesche, Jaxon Tart, Ava Sinnott, Kate Siddons, Ethan Nawrocki, Jurrien Loftin, Ava Bathurst and Taylor Hobbs; Not pictured: Bud Green, Anna Yates, and Emily Yim.
 
State Track and Field participants Harrison Tillman and Ryan Brown received accolades for their placements at State.
